Behind Amicalement Soi, it's Angélique Gruau
Parisian and Mayenne native, Angélique sought to dust off the classic silk square to make it an everyday accessory.
" Amicalement Soi is cinema, color, music, family, elegance, sensuality, extravagance, travel, history, friends, aesthetics and ethics."
Angélique grew up with a desire for permanent creation, inspired by her readings, cinema, music, architecture, sculpture and any artistic activity. Angélique loves to create, observe and share. From the age of seven, she used her hands to create by modeling clay. Then came embroidery and very quickly learning to sew with the family machine. As a teenager, she naturally went to a high school of applied arts to continue her apprenticeship at the Chambre syndicale de la couture parisienne then at the Atelier Chardon Savard. Her desire to create has continued to grow. Thirsty for learning, Angélique discovered the work of an artisan at the tailor Cifonelli in Paris during her studies after her classes, learning, observing this unique know-how of tailoring.
“It’s drawing inspiration from the past that allows us to go even further into the future.”
After theory comes practice. Angélique will be assistant stylist for the fashion houses Rabih Kayrouz, Christian Wijnants and Coralie Marabelle. She then had the chance to perfect her knowledge as a graphic designer and colorist in an exceptional industry for the printing workshop "Les tissus d'Avesnières" and the Usine Ratti in Como.
Freshly graduated with a master's degree in textiles from the Accademia de Costume e Moda in Rome, Angélique continues to grow her brand "AMICALEMENT SOI" day after day.
